The children in Junior and Senior Infants really enjoyed Engineers Week. They learned about all the different types of engineers they could be and a biomedical engineer came in to talk to them about her job in a medical devices company. They were also given different challenges during the week including building a table from paper that could hold a large dice and building some things you would find in a playground from paper. They thought about all the 3D shapes they knew and used these as a starting point for their playground equipment. They also were tasked with being urban engineers and had to design their own town or city. After planning their spaces, they then went outside and drew them on the ground.
